Welcome to the most current man powered airplane website.
Not just a plain bike it's a bike plane.
Attach the wings and your flying over curbs fences using only your own power.
The Goal of this project is to fly a man powered aircraft in reasonable weather conditions a distance of 20 feet at 1 to 3 feet above the ground. When I was 15 my dad would drive me in the car down to Arlington Airport so I could get in an airplane and go cruising through the air. I finally got my private pilots license with over 90 hours because I had to wait to turn old enough. Later I received an instrument rated license also. I always enjoyed flying and dreamed about being able to fly using my own power. It would also be cheaper and could go anytime. My dad built the first prototype in 1970 but was never finished. Neither was the second or third prototypes. In November 2003 the doctor said I had high cholesterol and needed to exercise. Needless to say that sparked the motivation to get me back into shape. I started designing on the computer. Once the design was complete I began building. The current fuselage for the Skycycle was finished on March 21, 2004 and I now have pedaled over 1900 miles on it with a top speed of 34.2 mph.
What have I learned from riding the Skycycle.
